An Idiot's Guide to Life

 I HAVE LEARNED

I have learned that when you make your plans, not even one can be accomplished. I have tried to make my own plans but never accomplished all of them…something always turned up that I did not plan for.

I have learned that you don’t search for a wife…the good wife will come from the Lord. If you search for a wife, the woman you find will pretend in order to be with you. She will reveal only a fraction of what you need to see and know about her.

I have learned that a friend who cares is much more influential than a family member who despises you.

I have learned that there is no such thing as the future. The future belongs to the Lord, I am only given today, and that is all I have to work with.

I have learned that all my dreams, hopes, and desires are meaningless if at the end of the day I get the glory.

I have learned that when a person claims that they want to serve God with the money and talent they have. It usually means they want to be rich and give part of the profits to God, specifically investing more and more to help those who will help them in the future – a future that does not exist, and even if it does, it belongs to God.

I have learned that this world is not big at all. This world is as big as the neighbor next door.

I have learned that in this life, only one thing is certain. And that is to grab the opportunity God gives you, not the one you created or think you can create. Because anything that is done for God will last.
I have learned that in this world, wealth and opportunities do not come to the smart and talented people. This world is full of unused potential.

I have learned that wealth and opportunities happen under one principle – being at the right place at the right time, and taking that one chance. And that chance is usually controlled by God, not you.

I have learned that I can accomplish more if I do things God’s way than when I have my own ideas and plans.

I have learned to cherish friends, regardless of their character or habits. The son of God died for each one of them.

I have learned that how people respect you, largely depends on the size of your bank account.
I have learned that is it the process of pursuing a goal that brings joy, not the final destination. An accomplished task does not give you joy, but the thought of accomplishing it does. Watching a baby grow is more glorious than having the baby fully grown. Travelling in a car is better than sitting inside in the car park. Spending, investing, and sharing is more fulfilling than knowing you have dormant billions in the bank account.

I have learned that there are three things that have no respect in this world; a hungry stomach, the toilet and the grave.

When it comes to marriage, I have learned that people marry one of two groups; friends or strangers. There are those who will tell you NOT to marry a friend, and those who will marry a complete stranger. The latter usually divorce after a few months because they hardly know each other, and the friends have a strong foundation to carry them through marriage life.

I have learned that God spread his activities in six days, and rested on the seventh day. Who in the world told me that I can accomplish everything in one day?

I have learned that when you truly love someone, you cannot remember the bad things they might have done to you.

I have learned that in all worldly pursuits, men are always awake to understand their own selfish ambitions. Personal interest usually leads the way in the journey of life together with ignorance.

Fresh ignorance…I have learned that where there is a warning, the effects do not change. You will reap what you sow. If you want to live a godly life, then you have to make some sacrifices on your part. Observe the ants and don’t idle away precious time. Time once spent cannot be retrieved, no matter what you do or how much you know.
I have learned that life has no respect, if you laugh at it, it will also laugh back.
